"Zambezi Stalker"
Bronze Hammerkop Sculpture
Edition of 12
26" H x 13" W x 5" D

This sculpture portrays the Hammerkop, an African wading bird, targeting its prey. This work was selected for display at the preeminent Birds in Art exhibition of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum of Wausau, Wisconsin.

In Zambezi Stalker Stefan gives "the viewer a window into this wading bird's daily life. The vertical format directs the eye down the length of the sculpture to the bird's intended prey."

An interesting characteristic of the African Hammerkop is that it builds the largest nest of any bird in the world! This uniquely shaped bird was chosen by Stefan as the third subject of his six- part series of African Birds.
